WhatsApp Greeting Message for Your Salon: Examples
A good greeting message says hello, tells the client what they can do and includes your booking link. Here are examples to copy and the steps to turn it on in WhatsApp Business.

Greeting with your booking link
"Hi, thanks for messaging [your business]. You can see prices and pick your time here: [your link]. If you have a question, send it and I'll answer as soon as I'm done with my client."
Greeting for when you're with a client
"Hi, I'm with a client and I'll reply as soon as I'm done. If you'd like to book now, pick your time here: [your link]."
Greeting with prices
"Hi, welcome to [your business]. Here you can see all our services with their price and length: [your link]. Once you choose, book your time right there."
How to write it in your own voice
Write it the way you'd talk to a client in your salon. If you're casual in person, be casual in the message. Use your business name and no more than three lines. Read it out loud: if it doesn't sound like you, change it.
How to change or remove the greeting message
Go to Business tools and tap Greeting message. There you can edit the text, choose who gets it or turn it off. Check it every time you change your link, your address or your hours.
What a greeting message should include
Three things: a hello with your business name, what the client can do now, and when you'll reply. Keep it short: it shows in the chat preview. If you include your link, you answer most of the questions people keep asking.
Greeting vs. away message: the difference
The greeting welcomes someone who messages you for the first time, at any hour. The away message goes out outside your hours or when you turn it on. Use both: each one answers a different moment.
Common mistakes in a greeting
Writing a long text nobody reads. Promising an instant reply. Pasting your whole price list instead of the link. Leaving an old link in place. Forgetting to update it when your address or hours change.
Greeting with a deposit
"Hi, thanks for messaging. Appointments are held with a [amount] deposit. Book here and we'll show you how to pay it: [your link]."

Frequently asked questions
When does the greeting message go out?
When someone messages you for the first time, or after a while without messaging you.
Can I use it on regular WhatsApp?
No. The greeting message is a WhatsApp Business feature.
What message can I use to offer a service?
Say the service, the price and how to book, in three lines at most. For example: "I have [service] for [price]. Book your time here: [your link]".
Do my regular clients get the greeting?
Only if it's been a while since they last messaged you. So it should work for both a new client and one who already knows you.
What greeting message should I put on WhatsApp Business?
A short one with your hello, your booking link and when you'll reply. The examples on this page are ready to copy.
Why don't I get my own greeting message?
Because it only goes out when someone else messages you for the first time or after a while without messaging you. Test it from another number.
How long should it be?
Two or three lines. If it doesn't fit in the chat preview, it's too long.
Can I put a link in the greeting message?
Yes, and you should. Your client can book without waiting for your reply.
Can I change the message whenever I want?
Yes. You edit it in Business tools and the change applies right away.
